Volunteers Needed

Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. is a volunteer community football club. We rely on our volunteers to provide a great environment for children and adults to play football. Please consider assisting in some way in 2024/2025. We are looking for the following committee roles to be filled: Treasurer, Technical Director, Mens League Coordinator, Womens League Coordinator, Junior League Coordinator, we also have a number of Support Roles that need filling, come along to our AGM or see a Committee member and become a valued volunteer. All new Volunteers will be supported by the previous Role holder or other Committee members until they get the hang of the role, so please if you want to try out, please email us.

If the club cannot fill the Committee roles then we may have to fold the club altogether and that would be a great loss to the Belwest Soccer Community.

Committee Roles

Expected Behaviours for all Committee and Support Volunteers

  • Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. is an inclusive sporting club that maintains an inclusive positive culture
  • Comfortable working with a diverse range of people in a positive manner
  • Make sure that the clubs resources are properly used and maintained
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People registration (required by ACT Government)
  • Must be able to represent Belwest in a positive manner to all stakeholders
  • Must be a good communicator
  • Must be able to resolve conflict from time to time
  • Competent, enthusiastic and approachable in carrying out the role volunteered for.

Treasurer

Objective:

To ensure that the Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. financial management is sound and the committee has an accurate understanding of the financial status of the club at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage general banking activities and online accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of income and expenditure.
  • Manage payments of accounts.
  • Maintain the Treasurer email account.
  • Monitor sponsorship funds.
  • Report to the Belwest Committee on a monthly basis
  • Prepare budgets in consultation with the committee
  • Make details of all bank accounts available to the club committee
  • Ensure all taxation commitments are met by the club.
  • Prepare annual financial accounts for auditing and provide the auditor with necessary information.
  • Report activities of the portfolio to the membership at the AGM.
  • Attend monthly club committee meetings as an official of Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc.

Relationships:

  • Reports to the President and Belwest Committee.
  • Liaise with all members of the Club with financial responsibility.
  • Liaise with external creditors and debtors.

Accountability:

  • The Treasurer is accountable to the President and Belwest Committee according to the Rules of Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc.
  • The Treasurer shall seek ratification from the Belwest Committee of a club budget, there after shall have the authority to act within the limits of the budget and strategy approved.
  • The Treasurer shall provide a monthly report to the Belwest Committee of all financial transactions.

The estimated time commitment required as the Treasurer is up to 2 to 3 hours per week. This may vary throughout the season.

Essential Skills:

  • Able to do online banking with a PC.
  • Enthusiastic and well organised.
  • Ability to keep sound records.
  • Ability to allocate regular time periods to maintain the books.
  • Ability to work in a logical and orderly manner.
  • Honest and trustworthy.

Desirable Skills:

  • Financial accounting experience.

Interested applicants will need to provide two referees.

Technical Director

Duties:

  1. The Technical Director will work exclusively with Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. and must not participate as a technical director or equivalent position, coach or manager for another sporting Club.
  2. Having a commitment and focus on coach, player, and team development 
  3. Maintain or achieve during their appointment minimum coaching qualifications at the current Football Australia (FA) / Asian Football Confederation (AFC) C Licence.
  4. The TD should have access and be able to use current technology i.e., email (Web and device client), have good oral and written communication skills including policy and relevant documentation skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent).
  5. Co-ordinate “Coach the Coaches” sessions and any other appropriate training courses.
  6. Keep themselves up to date with new coaching and training techniques.
  7. Develop Belwest coaching philosophies and structures with approved FFA models.
  8. Attend and conduct individual team training sessions where required or requested by club coaches.
  9. Oversee and assist in the development and continual review of a Belwest coaching manual.
  10. Provide advice, information and assistance on coaching matters where required to the Belwest Committee.
  11. Organise, with committee approval relevant coaches and managers meetings.
  12. Develop a coaching program within Belwest aligned to the various age categories.
  13. Organise pre-season gala days and holiday clinics for players to attend.
  14. Organise grading days with the assistance of Club Registrars and Club delegates.
  15. Identify prospective players from Under 11 age group upwards to be invited to attend Premier League and Belconnen United Development Squad trials.
  16. As identified by the Belwest Committee, the TD must complete satisfactorily all relevant checks including ACT Working with Vulnerable People check.
  17. TD must hold a current valid “Apply First Aid” certificate or equivalent or able to obtain with Belwest support.
  18. The TD agrees to comply with the Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. Rules, requirements of FFA and any Capital Football requirements by virtue of Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. affiliation with Capital Football.
  19. The TD must be a member of Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. as this role is a committee position.

Responsibilities

  • As required, provide advice and assistance to the Belwest Committee on all coaching matters.
  • Represent Belwest at Capital Football coaching forums.
  • Develop and coordinate “coach the coach” sessions and where required conduct team training sessions.
  • With the Belwest Committee, develop and implement preseason team and player allocation programs.
  • Report on coaching activities and programs at monthly committee meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • TD complies with the Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc. Rules.
  • A current Capital Football Youth Football Certificate and ACT Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Expense reimbursement will be negotiated.

Mens League Coordinator

Role Description:

  • Belwest Mens League representative on the Belwest Committee and at General Meetings
  • Represents Belwest at all Mens League related activities organised by Capital Football.
  • Shares information with all mens teams and provides feedback
  • Assists with all matters to do with Mens football.
  • Coordinates all Mens League related soccer activities within Belwest.
  • Reports to the Committee monthly on the progress of all Mens League related soccer activities within Belwest.
  • In collaboration with the Committee assists with setting the strategic direction and plans for Belwest.

Womens League Coordinator

Role Description:

  • Belwest Womens League representative on the Belwest Committee and at General Meetings
  • Represents Belwest at all Womens League related activities organised by Capital Football.
  • Shares information with all womens teams and provides feedback
  • Assists with all matters to do with Womens football.
  • Coordinates all Womens League related soccer activities within Belwest.
  • Reports to the Committee monthly on the progress of all Womens League related soccer activities within Belwest.
  • In collaboration with the Committee assists with setting the strategic direction and plans for Belwest.

Junior League Coordinator

Role Description:

  • Represents Belwest at all Junior League related activities organised by Capital Football
  • Shares information with all teams and provides feedback
  • Assists with all matters to do with Junior football
  • Coordinates all Junior League related soccer activities within Belwest
  • Reports to the Committee monthly on the progress of all Junior League related soccer activities within Belwest.
